Right in the heart of Johor Bahru town, a minute from Plaza Pelangi, you will find our little French Bistro, Chez Papa. Step in from the street outside, close the door behind you and be transformed. Vibrant burgundy walls, warm wooden furniture and quaint wine bottle chandeliers create a chic and inviting space.
For over 25 years, Chez Papa has brought classic French fare to Johor Bahru. Embark on a culinary journey celebrating the essence of French bistro cuisine. Savour favourites like the soup a l'oignon, escargots persil et beurre and the simple yet succulent steak frites salade.
And don't forget to glance at the thoughtfully put together wine list featuring wines from globally renowned Chateaus as well as the smaller, less known and special houses, something for everyone-bien sur.

One of the places which i really enjoyed the western food. In terms of the ambience, it was pretty nice. It gave that olden rustic bistro feel which i like. As for the service, it was good too since the servers were attentive and the chef also asked if everything was alright which i think was pretty nice of them...

We celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary at Chez Papa and were absolutely blown away by the experience! The service was warm, attentive, and genuinely thoughtful - the team even surprised us with complimentary desserts and wine, which made our evening extra special.
Every dish we ordered was fantastic. The lamb was tender and flavourful, the seafood gratiné was rich and comforting, and the French onion soup was beautifully done. The chicken thigh came with an awesome sauce that we couldn’t stop talking about. And the apple crumble… absolutely amazing - the perfect sweet ending!
It was our first visit, but definitely not our last. Thank you, Chez Papa, for making our anniversary dinner unforgettable. We’ll be back! 😍
